The DIC-Score presents a scoring system to evaluate the clinical probability of a disseminated intravascular coagulation disorder and to provide objective measurement of DIC. The score can only be applied for patients with an underlying disorder that can be associated with DIC. It is important to repeat the tests to monitor the dynamically changing scenario based on laboratory results and clinical observations. The score was developed by the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. Alternative to prothrombin time (PT) INR values can be used for scoring, we defined the INR values as used at our institution.
